Hoosiers vote in Republican Presidential Primary

By Peter Neumann

UNDATED (Indiana's NewsCenter) --- The Republican presidential nomination is in Senator John McCain's hands, but there still was an election today in Indiana.

With more than 75 percent of the votes counted, McCain garnered 77 percent of the vote. Former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee, who has quit campaigning but was still on the ballot, gets 10 percent.

Conservative Congressman Ron Paul, who had campaigned in Fort Wayne at IPFW just last night, gets about 8% of the vote. Paul bills himself as the only true conservative running for President, and says he will not quit the race until he's heard at the Republican National Convention.

Also on the ballot was former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney, who received about 5 percent of the vote but had quit the race.
