Father of Murder Victim Speaks Out

By Nicole Pence

It was the deadliest week on record for the Fort Wayne Police Department: nine murders in seven days.
So, where do they stand in solving the string of homicides?
One father says not far enough.
One of the murder victims, 27-year-old Chantell Craighead, a mother of four. She was killed at her home on Blum Drive, shot multiple times. Her roommate, 22-year-old Rachel Roos, was gunned down as well. Roos was also eight months pregnant.
This crime scene has been the most perplexing for police. But, Paul Craighead, Chantell's father, says it might not be so hard to solve, if police were doing the basics.
He says he has some information that could help, but detectives have not been returning his calls.
Indiana's Newscenter has learned that the Fort Wayne Police Department has no policy mandating how often or how many times detectives are obligated to call family members during an investigation.
And if you have information for police, you can call Crimestoppers, at 436-stop.
