May 30th Storm Report - Update 2

FORT WAYNE, IN (Indiana's NewsCenter) - The National Weather Service has confirmed four tornadoes in Northern Indiana and Northwest Ohio.

An EF1 touched down for about two tenths of a mile in an open field just south of the city of Wabash in Wabash County southwest of the intersection of West 400 S and State Road 13. This tornado had estimated winds of 90 mph. Two barns were damaged and 12 power poles were knocked over.

Another tornado in Wabash County touched down for a tenth of a mile just north of Lincolnville near the intersection of 600 East and 250 North. This tornado was an EF0 with estimated winds of 80 mph. An older wood barn was damaged, and a few trees were blown down.

An EF0 touched down in eastern Adams County Indiana before moving a half mile into Van Wert County Ohio before dissipating. Estimated wind speeds between 80-85 mph with trees and a shed damaged.

And a high end EF1 tornado with estimated winds of 105-110 mph touched down in Putnam County Ohio just northwest of the town of Glandorf. It widened to a peak of 464 yards, over a quarter mile. The tornado destroyed six outbuildings including pole barns and "stick-built" buildings constructed on a foundation. Over a half dozen homes were damaged with several sustaining major damage including the complete removal of roofs. Total monetary losses with this tornado are estimated near $300,000.

In addition to these four tornadoes, significant straight line wind damage estimated at 65-80 mph was found in Wabash, Huntington, and Grant Counties. Most of this damage was found in areas between just south of Wabash and just south of Andrews.
