Indianapolis Police Officer and Wife Accused of Running Prostitution Ring

By Peter Ambrose

GREENWOOD, Ind. (AP) - An Indianapolis police officer and his wife have been accused of running a prostitution ring out of their home.

Jeremy Lee faces a charge of aiding in promoting prostitution. Court documents say Lee collected cash from prostitutes hired by
his wife, Lori Vernon-Lee, while wearing his police uniform.

Arrest warrants were issued today for the couple and Jerry McCory, a Marion County Sheriff's Department employee who faces a
misdemeanor count of patronizing a prostitute.

Vernon-Lee is charged with five felony counts of promoting
prostitution for allegedly operating the illegal escort service from the couple's home in Greenwood.

WTHR TV reports that Lee was in Massachusetts and had been
contacted and told to surrender to authorities there.
