JASPER, Ind. (AP) - Authorities say six people were hurt by an
explosion and fire at a furniture factory in the southern Indiana
city of Jasper.

Jasper Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center said the six
people it was treating do not have life-threatening injuries.

Fire Chief Kenny Hochgesang says the explosion Friday at the Indiana Laminate plant caused a fire that has been extinguished.

He says some walls collapsed.

What caused the explosion is unclear.

The first 911 call came into police at 7:19 a.m.

Jasper is about 50 miles northeast of Evansville.
