SPENCER, Ind. (AP) - A 9-year-old boy died when the golf cart he was driving crashed and rolled over on top of him.

Owen County Sheriff's Dept. Lt. William Snodgrass says the boy
was riding alone in the gas-powered golf cart Thursday afternoon
through woods near his home in Spencer, about 15 miles northwest of
Bloomington.

The boy was pronounced dead at the scene. His name was not
immediately released.

Snodgrass says the boy's father went looking for his son when the boy didn't return as expected. He found his son pinned beneath the golf cart. The father and a neighbor attempted to revive the boy until emergency workers arrived.
