Motorcyclist Arrested After Late-Night High-Speed Chase

By Scott Sarvay

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - Reaching speeds of up to 157-miles per hour, State Police say a Fort Wayne man is lucky to be alive.

Authorities say the pursuit of 22-year-old Keith Brundige III started around 10 PM Monday night while a trooper followed Brundige's motorcycle on US 30 near O'Day Road. They say Brundige was going 84 mph, then accelerated to 157 mph.

The chase wound its way to US 33 near Churubusco, then on to State Road 205 before the pursuit ended about 20 minutes later near the Allen-Noble County line, where police say Brundige was taken into custody.

Brundige was also not wearing a helmet at the time.

Officer Ron Galaviz says, “Your talking on a motorcycle, I don't ride motorcycles even driving 55 or 60 or what ever the posted speed limit is, and small piece of debris on the road, can easily off set the balance of that vehicle, potentially causing injury to that rider.”

Brundige's charged with resisting law enforcement, criminal recklessness and reckless driving.
