Everyone's heard of wheelchair basketball, but a new up-and-coming sport is Sled Hockey. In this game, players slide on the ice in a sled, propelling themselves using two hockey sticks that double as makeshift ski poles. The game is played with all the same rules as hockey with the exception that each period is five minutes shorter.

A Sled Hockey exhibition game can be seen this Sunday, December 9th at the McMillen Ice Arena in Fort Wayne. Sled Hockey players from Grand Rapids and Columbus are going to show everyone how the game is played, and they're even going to let everyone try out the sleds!

Jason Meyers sampled one of the sleds and he also got to talk to Dennis Smith, who helped to bring this unique sport to the McMillen Ice Arena and Fort Wayne.
