A local rapper is winning big in a national competition. "Moe Cheez" recently won his first-round competition on the BET program "106 and Park." The American Idol-like show pits rappers from across the country against each other.
"Moe Cheez " performed his hit "D&G shades", a song about sunglasses. The rapper is the first person from Indiana to make it on the show.
"Moe Cheez"/Songwriter/Rapper: "Everybody else was like, ya you got it, you got it. I couldn't believe it. I was very humbled by the whole experience. I hope it inspires people to think that, ya, there is more than corn here in Indiana. This is something positive and this is something good and we are going to push it until the wheels fall off."
“Moe Cheez " will head back to New York for round-two in about a-month. The winner gets a record deal.
