Mellencamp Rocks Obama Rally, to Do Same For Clinton

By Peter Ambrose

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Indiana rocker John Mellencamp is taking the stage to support both Democratic presidential candidates. He'll be at a Barack Obama rally tonight in Evansville and then with Hillary Clinton in Indianapolis on May 3rd.

Bob Merlis is Mellencamp's publicist. He says the rocker hasn't said which Democrat he'll vote for, but neither of them is as liberal as Mellencamp would prefer.

Mellencamp performed for Wesley Clark, Howard Dean and John
Edwards in 2004 and supported Edwards earlier this year.

Mellencamp's wife, model Elaine Irwin Mellencamp, was a delegate
to the 2004 Democratic National Convention and is seeking to be one again this year.
