Several hundred thousand techno music fans braved the rain Saturday to turn up at one of Europe's biggest rave parties, the Street Parade, in the Swiss city of Zurich, local media reported.
At around 1300 GMT, the so-called Love Mobiles -- or themed trucks carrying DJs playing a spectrum of electronic music -- began travelling through the crowd along the 2.4 kilometer route, Swiss news wire ATS and Zurich-based newspaper TagesAnzeiger said.
While the rain may have ruined some make-up and body paint, it did not appear to have dampened the mood.
The party is expected to last until the early hours of Sunday, with top DJ Paul Van Dyk scheduled to play on the main stage until midnight.
Street Parade started in 1990 with just 2,000 techno fans. It has since grown into the second biggest rave party in Europe, after Berlin's Love Parade.
Some 850,000 people attended the Zurich party last year, according to the event's organisers.
