FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - Four time MVP and Turner Cup winner Colin Chaulk will not be a member of the Fort Wayne Komets next season.
He's been a fan favorite during his seven years with the team but Friday afternoon, Chaulk says it's time to think about the future.
Chaulk will be leaving the Komets to play in Europe, so he can work toward his goal of being a full time coach and hockey instructor.
This move to the European League will mean shorter seasons.
And the 33-year-old plans to move to his home "Hockey City" of Toronto, where he can spend his off-season teaching and coaching.
Chaulk says, "It would be a lot better for me and my family to be in Toronto during the off season, there's five or six months there where I can market myself to get into the industry, teaching, coaching and that kinda stuff. Get some experience in that market."
Chaulk has his formal end-of-season exit interview with the Frankes Friday afternoon.
