FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) -- Just down the street from where The Harrison will be built, the Fort Wayne TinCaps is joining with Trees Indiana to spread the importance of planting trees in the community.
The two groups gathered at Parkview Field Monday to plant two Rambo apple trees, grown from the last living tree that was known to be planted by John Chapman, or Johnny Appleseed, the inspiration for the TinCaps mascot Johnny.
The trees are located at the south gate of the facility and are two of only fifty of the final trees to come from John Chapman's original tree.
