FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - A ceremonial groundbreaking took place Wednesday morning for another Lutheran Life Village.

Lutheran Life Villages will build a 9-acre, 84-bed nursing and rehab campus in the 9900 block of Coldwater Road.

Construction starts next month, and the facility is scheduled to be open next May.

Marketing studies show people are getting older and living longer, so the non-profit wanted to target the north side of the Summit City.

Lutheran Life Villages CEO Bruce Blalock says, “This will be a smaller size, more focused on individual care, really focused on rehab as we grow. We will have more private rooms, much more of an emphasis on living, instead of just the care aspect."

The new center will employ 100 people.

Lutheran Life Villages also has facilities on South Anthony Boulevard in Fort Wayne, and one in Kendallville.
