FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) -- Local companies are getting ready to burn rubber for Junior Achievement.

The 16th Chase Junior Achievement Grand Prix will take place Saturday at Baer Field Speedway. The Indy style go kart race will bring together around 25 companies to compete for the Scott Brayton memorial trophy while raising money for a good cause.

JA Grand Prix Chairman Darren Vogt says, "It started out as a fundraiser and its’ built into a bunch of teams with camaraderie. Some teams have been doing it from the beginning. We do it to raise money for Junior Achievement, a great cause that teaches economic empowerment to the local community and they reach over 90,000 kids. It's a great opportunity to raise money for a great cause."

Practice will begin at 10am with the main event beginning at 4:45. The event is free to attend.
