NEWTOWN, Conn. (www.incnow.tv) - The grieving residents of Newtown, Connecticut are bracing themselves for the first funerals of the innocent victims -murdered in last week's elementary school massacre.

Noah Pozner will be buried Monday afternoon in Fairfield. Noah celebrated his sixth birthday with his twin sister last month.

She was one of the lucky that survived the shooting rampage.

Schoolmate Jack Pinto will also be laid to rest Mond in Newtown. The 6-year-old boy loved the New York Giants football team, and was a big fan of Victor Cruz. The wide receiver has reached out to the Pinto family. The parents told him they may bury Jack in his favorite Victor Cruz jersey.

Cruz said, “I was honored. I couldn't even express to them how great that made me feel. I just told them to stay strong and I’m going to do whatever I can to honor them."

Connecticut State Police are still investigating the massacre, and they still need to interview many witnesses, including the young children who survived the bloodbath.

Lt. Paul Vance said, “Any interviews with any children will be done with parents and professionals and will be conducted extremely delicately.

Police investigators have disclosed that the shooter, 20-year-old Adam Lanza, carried an arsenal of weapons, including a Bushmaster assault rife, and hundreds of rounds of especially deadly ammunition.

He only stopped the carnage after hearing emergency unit sirens that were responding to Sandy Hook Elementary School, he then turned his weapon on himself.

Investigators are still searching for clues behind what motivated Lanza to first kill his mother in her home, before going on a murderous rampage at the elementary school. Police have removed computers and videos from the home.

Officials also say the scene of the massacre, and gunman’s home, are still active crime scenes.

On Monday, vans pulled up to the school to transport some of the furniture to a temporary school for the kids, seven miles away.

Hundreds of workers are prepping the unused building to open, so the Sandy Hook children can resume classes.

Sally Cox, the school nurse, says she only survived because the shooter was unaware she was hiding underneath her desk. Moments later, the school secretary raced into her office.

Cox says, “Then we pulled the phone off my desk, I held the phone while she dialed 911," a call that may have prevented even greater loss of life.

At Sunday night's memorial service in Newtown, President Obama vowed to take action stating, "We can't tolerate this anymore."
