Fort Wayne, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) - Ever wondered where the change dropped into those canisters at your local McDonald’s restaurant goes?

40% of it allows families of sick or injured children to stay at a Ronald McDonald House for free.

Leaders with Parkview Regional Medical Center held an open-house tour of their new Ronald McDonald House, on Sunday.

It has 11 guest rooms, a large kitchen-and dining room and a laundry room, a true home-away from-home.

Lisa Pacula, Exec. Director of the Ronald McDonald House said, “When your child is in the hospital, parents don't want to even leave the hospital, they don't want to leave the bedside. They need a place to stay. And some children are here for month on end. So our parents... this is their home.”

The Ronald McDonald House is located inside P.R.M.C. and is the only one in the region.

It opens November 27th.
