Fort Wayne, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) - A donated 35-foot tall Colorado Blue-Spruce now stands on Broadway, ready for lights to be strung for the 2012 Christmas on Broadway Celebration.
For the next seven days, about 28,000 lights will be placed on the tree. In 2011, only 14,000 lights were used.
It's all about "revitalization" and there's a lot of meaning behind the event.
Event Sponsor, Steve Shine says, “So, by having a neighborhood gathering place to show faith in the neighborhood, to show hope, and to show celebration of the holiday season...to bring it right into the neighborhood...we are so thankful for being able to do this now for the eighth year in a row."
Next Friday, November 16th, you and your family are invited to attend the tree-lighting at 6 p.m. on Broadway or watch it live during our newscast.
The lighting will mark the 8th year for the event.
