ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - It's still not clear whether charges will be filed against 60-year-old Sandra Seyfert of Huntertown, after she hit two men who were standing in one of the lanes of Coldwater Road after a crash, Sunday morning.
Joseph Sharpe, 40, of Avilla remains in critical condition, James Smith, 41, of Fort Wayne is in serious condition.
Police say the men had stopped their car and moped in the southbound lane of Coldwater Road near Perry Lakes Drive when they were hit.
Around 7:00 AM Sunday, the Allen County Sheriff’s Department responded to a crash on Coldwater Road just South of Perry Lakes Drive. Coldwater was closed for almost two-hours during the cleanup and investigation.
Officers say the riders of a teal Ford Contour and a scooter were stopped in the South bound lane of Coldwater Road and standing in the lane.
While they were standing there, a white GMC Acadia was headed south on Coldwater and smashed into the car, scooter, and two men from behind.
Officers still do not know why they were in the road.
