FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter)--It was a call to action, a bold leap of faith as over 2 dozen area residents came together as complete strangers to be a part of Indiana's NewsCenter's first Fort 4 Fitness training group.

Over the course of the last many months we've watched some of these individuals train, face set backs, deal with injury and encounter personal tragedy.

Along the way they had every excuse to back out and some did, although the number was fewer than a handful.

This group of complete strangers are now life long friends, celebrating a milestone they dreamed of achieving but worked tirelessly to make possible.

Our cameras were rolling Saturday as a few of them crossed the finish line.
