LOGANSPORT, Ind. (21Alive) – A northern Indiana man has pleaded guilty to battery charges for shaking a 1-month-old girl so violently she suffered severe brain and retinal injuries.

Police say Hogan Moss, 23, of Logansport pleaded guilty Friday to battery resulting in serious bodily injury.

Moss was watching the baby in a Bunker Hill apartment last year while the child's mother left to run errands, the Kokomo Tribune reports.

Prosecutors say Moss violently shook the infant when she began crying and the baby was hospitalized the following day.

Doctors found the baby had suffered a brain hemorrhage and retinal hemorrhaging in her eyes.
