COPS Riders Arrive At The Summit City

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) – Thirty-five police officers are riding around the Hoosier state in memory of fellow officers who lost their lives in the line of duty.

The Concerns of Police Survivors or COPS Riders arrived in Fort Wayne Wednesday at the law enforcement memorial on Wells Street after riding up the east side of the state from Indianapolis.

The bicyclists' track will take them across the top of the state and back down the west side to the southern tip near Kentucky..

Monday marked the beginning of the 10th annual Cops Cycling for Survivors bicycle ride around Indiana

This year, they ride in honor of Terre Haute officer Brent Long.

Long and his k-9 partner “shadow” were shot last July while serving a warrant.
