(Fort Wayne, IN)--Construction of the Harrison Square project broke ground last week, and one part of the project is already costing nearly double the original estimate.

One Fort Wayne city councilman says he's afraid taxpayers may end up footing a much larger bill than expected.

The skybridge connecting the new Harrison Square Hotel with the old Indiana Hotel will cost about 1.8-million dollars.

That's almost double the price originally quoted council.

Officials say most of that expense will be covered by a grant.

But councilman Don Schmidt says he's afraid every piece of the project could end up over budget.
