AUBURN, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - Auburn police have arrested two people in connection with a series of bicycle and vehicle thefts.

Andrew O. Meyers, 22, and Makayla K. DePriest, 21, of Garrett, have been charged with receiving stolen property, receiving stolen auto parts and drug possession.

Police say the pair have stolen one vehicle, three bicycles and stolen from 18 vehicles since July 1 in the area of 1100 block of Huron Way. Most of the crimes were in the early morning hours.

Auburn police are asking people to be more vigiliant with valuables, lock their vehicles and report any suspicious activity to police. Chief Martin McCoy said Auburn police will step up patrols, too.
