FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - A woman was injured early Sunday morning in a downtown hit-and-run crash between a car and a taxi cab.
Police say the taxi with a driver and three passengers inside was heading eastbound on on Main Street. A maroon Buick with three people inside was southbound on Fairfield Avenue. The two vehicles collided at the intersection of Main and Fairfield around 2:56 a.m. In all, seven people were involved in the crash.
Police say the female driver of the Buick fled the scene on foot, and has yet to be found. Two other passengers in the Buick were listed in fair condition.
A woman riding in the front seat of the taxi was originally listed in serious condition, but later downgraded to critical condition. The cab driver and two other cab passengers were treated and released.
Police think alcohol was a factor in the crash.
