Fort Wayne Teen Likely Drowns In Whitley County Lake

ETNA-TROY, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - A Fort Wayne teenager likely drowned Saturday night while swimming in a Whitley County lake.

Indiana conservation officers that a 15-year-old boy, whose name has not been released, was swimming with friends at the southeast end of Troy Cedar Lake. Witnesses tell officers that the boy was struggling in the water, went under around 6:50 p.m. and did not reappear.

Conservation officers found the boys body at 8:22 p.m. in 10 feet of water about 55 feet from shore.

The Whitley County coroner will perform an autopsy to determine official cause of death.
