FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - Strong storms that rolled through the area Saturday night left thousands in the dark.
Indiana-Michigan Power says 13,000 customers in Northern Indiana and Southwest Michigan experience interruptions in service. As of 10 a.m., power crews have restored electricity to more than 6,300 of the affected customers, I&M says.
I&M reports more than 3,000 homes in Northern Indiana--mainly in Elkhart, LaPorte and St. Joseph Counties--remain in the dark. In extreme Southern Michigan, another 2,700 are still without power.
I&M expects to fully restore power by Sunday night.
