Fort Wayne's most experienced news anchor has retired.

Keith Edwards tonight ended 24-years of reporting and anchoring the news for Indiana's NewsCenter by thanking the viewers for their trust and loyalty.

Edwards came to WPTA 21Alive from Colorado Springs in 1983 and quickly established himself as the source for news in Northeast Indiana and Northwest Ohio.

For more than two decades, Edwards led coverage locally and around the world to bring stories of importance into our homes. He was a calming voice in turbulent times, and was known for mixing with his viewers at many public events in Fort Wayne and Northeast Indiana.

In his last broadcast at 6 P.M., Edwards thanked his co-workers, and says he couldn't have been a success without the loving support of his wife Tracy and their children.

All of us with Indiana's NewsCenter wish Keith every success and happiness, and thank him for his many years of loyal service.
