FORT WAYNE, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) - A group of clergy united Wednesday to promote traditional Christian values in Northeast Indiana.
Fifty priests, pastors and ministers gathered calling themselves Shepherds United gathered at the Rotunda of the Allen County Courthouse to promote ecumenical similarities on key social issues.
The group presented a document that condemns abortion and same-sex marriage and the new health care mandate.
"We just believe kids should have a father, should have the right to be born and are best served, if possible, with a father and mother together, united in marriage," Peter Scaer, Ph.D., of the Concordia Theological Seminary says.
Shepherds United plans to participate in the local March for Life on Jan. 19. While the group says it will not lobby in the General Assembly, the pastors hope state lawmakers will consider the group's values.
