Approval of Move Likely At May 20 School Board Meeting

FAIRFIELD, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) - Garrett High School is poised to join the North East Corner Conference after the conference principals and athletic directors extended an membership invitation Wednesday.

Realignment for the Railroaders, who currently play in the Allen County Athletic Conference, would take approval from the Garrett-Keyser-Butler Schools board. The change in conference is on the May 20 school board meeting, Mark Hoffman, incoming NECC president and Fairfield High School athletic director, said in a statement.

Sources tell 21Alive the school board will likely approve the move at the May 20 meeting.

Garrett and the ACAC will discuss the Railroaders' exit plan, Hofer says.

NECC members are Angola, Central Noble, Churubusco, Eastside, Fairfield, Fremont, Hamilton, Lakeland, Prairie Heights, West Noble and Westview.

The other ACAC members are: Adams Central, Bluffton, Leo, South Adams, Southern Wells (minus football) and Woodlan.
