DECATUR, Ind. (21Alive) - US 27 in Adams County is back open after a significant gas leak shut it down late Monday night.

Around 8:15 p.m. Monday, the Decatur Fire Department reported that a gas line was cut near the intersection of 13th Street (US27) & Yorkshire Drive.

NIPSCO crews were able to fix the leak and reopen the road to traffic just after 1:00 a.m.

People living along Master, Mix and Lewis Drives were evacuated from the area during the leak. They have since been allowed to return to their homes.
