Congenital Amputee Will Attempt to Climb Mount Kilimanjaro

A 25-year-old congenital amputee will attempt to climb 19,000-foot Mount Kilimanjaro without prosthetics early next year, according to Atlanta television station WGCL.

Kyle Maynard, a 25-year-old  from Georgia, plans to attempt the feat in January in order to raise awareness for disabled children in Africa, according to the report.

Maynard, who was born with a condition known as congenital amputation, and his arms end at the elbows and his legs at the knees.

"Kilimanjaro will be the toughest test I've ever faced," Maynard told WGCL.
