BLUFFTON, Ind. (AP) - Traffic violators in Bluffton will still be ticketed even as the city waits for a new City Court judge.

Gary Markley submitted his resignation last week, two weeks after he took the job, citing poor record keeping by his predecessor, and his own lack of knowledge of the requirements of the court system.

Governor Mitch Daniels will appoint Markley's replacement.

Mayor Ted Ellis, meanwhile, asked that traffic tickets not be written to the City Court until a new judge is appointed.

He has also been working with the city attorney on the court's docket.

Ellis spoke live, via phone, to Ryan Elijah and Mary Collins on Indiana's NewsCenter Today Monday to explain the situation in Bluffton.
