FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) - It was a circus-like atmosphere Wednesday afternoon for patients at Hopebridge Pediatric Specialists.
Hopebridge, which provides services for children with developmental disabilities, held a open house and circus at its new offices, 1300 Airport North Office Park.
While Hopebridge focuses on children with autism, it provides a range of occupational, physical and speech therapy for kids with disabilities.
Kim Strunk, president and CEO of Hopebridge, says the move was needed to better the growing need for behavior services for children.
"The autism population continues to grow," Strunk says. "It's now 1 in 88 (children). In some studies, they're even saying 1 in 68."
Hopebridge's relocated to their 6,300-sq. ft. building from a 2,300-sq. ft. office on Dupont Road to accommodate those needs.
Hopebridge operates three other Indiana offices in Marion, Kokomo and Greenwood. In all, 600 children are patients, including 200 in Fort Wayne.
