Wayne High School's assistant principal is charged with a sex crime. Fort Wayne Community School administrators have also finished their investigation surrounding an alleged student-teacher love affair. Nicole Pence has details.
Fort Wayne Police arrested 36-year old Kristopher Sennett late Wednesday afternoon. He's the assistant principal that was suspended with pay last week after admitting to police he was "having a relationship" with a 17-year old junior.
Sennett faces two counts of child seduction, and the Fort Wayne Police Dept. is still investigating. The assistant principal's been working at Wayne High School for the last two years. Tuesday, FWCS released a slew of emails the assistant principal wrote to the teenage girl, while he was at work during a snow day.
Here is a portion of those emails:
Sennett typed: "The age thing between us i really don't think about a whole lot cuz it just doesn't seem 2 b a huge distraction to me. The relationship is so real…We are meeting at 11:30 and then...whatever...love you a whole big ole bunch!"
Indiana’s NewsCenter caught up with a parent today, whose child attends Wayne High School.
Heather Bierce/Son at Wayne HS: "I think he needs fire, I think they need to remove his teaching license or whatever the license is that he has. I don't think he should be allowed around students, schools. I think it's disgusting to be honest."
District officials released this statement, late Wednesday afternoon: "We have completed our investigation...we do not release discipline that is not yet complete, but we are taking steps that are essential to protect our students..."
No one from the administration would talk to on camera. But, they say the human resources department will make a recommendation about Sennett's future, and it will be discussed at the March 24th school board meeting.
Sennett’s bond was set at five-thousand dollars.
