FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - Fort Wayne Police say a young 13-year-old girl was the victim of a hit-and-run driver Wednesday morning around 6:45.
According to police, the unidentified child stepped onto the street. The vehicle was heading south in 2400 block of Broadway with no headlights on. The unidentified driver struck the child, paused, and then continued to drive. Police said the driver and the child did not see each other.
Paramedics took the child to a local hospital in serious condition. Fort Wayne Police are checking with other students who were around during the incident.
The vehicle involved in the hit-and-run has damage to the front. The color of the car is either light brown or white. Police say a white male was driving.
