SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) - Sen. Barack Obama began an Indiana bus tour with a stop at Washington High School in South Bend.
Obama told thousands of people gathered in the school gym late
Wednesday night that the nation can't wait to end the war in Iraq and repair the sagging economy.
Obama's rival for the Democratic presidential nomination, Hillary Rodham Clinton, had planned a stop at the school on March 28, but moved the trip to Mishawaka after school officials decided the visit might disrupt the school day.
Obama's visit was well after school hours.
Obama also is scheduled to stop in Gary, Lafayette, Columbus,
Terre Haute and Muncie this week.
Meanwhile, Clinton will campaign in Indiana on Saturday.
Clinton's campaign said Wednesday her visit will include stops in Indianapolis, Mishawaka, and Valparaiso and will focus on economic issues.
Clinton's husband, former President Bill Clinton, also is to visit the state this week.
