Woman's Smuggling Attempt Foiled by Prison Guards

WESTVILLE, Ind.. (www.incnow.tv) –Police say Columbia City woman attempted to smuggle contraband in prison.

According to Indiana Department of Correction officials, on Saturday 27 year old Ashley Reavis tried to smuggle contraband to Blake Settles.

Police arrested Reavis after finding unspecified contraband with her while she checked in to visit an inmate. Prison officials say Reavis was booked into the LaPorte County Jail and faces one charge of felony trafficking.

Settles is serving time at the West Correctional Facility for dealing and possession of look-alike substances, theft and receiving stolen property, operating a vehicle as a habitual offender and felony escape. He is scheduled for release in 2016.
