Angola Girl Missing Since Sunday

By Jessica Toumani

A 12-year old girl is missing. her family desperately awaiting news of her whereabouts.

The girl told her dad she was going for a short walk to a place nearby their Angola home on Sunday night, but she never returned.

Police are now asking for your help to find her.

Holly Cleckner is 12 years old, 5' 4", and weighs around 160 pounds.

She has chin-length brown hair and green eyes.

The girl was last seen wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt, jeans and tennis shoes.

A truck driver spotted a girl matching Cleckner's description Sunday night walking westbound near the 155 mile marker on toll road 80/90, but at that point police hadn't received any word of a missing child.

It was Monday morning before the Steuben County Sheriff's Department says Cleckner's father called them.

Several troopers then searched along the toll road, but found nothing.

"We're trying to get phone records right now of who she talked to, all we know is his name is Zach, he's on MySpace, he's from Wilmington, Delaware, we don't know if that's where she's headed, we have no idea," says Michelle Cleckner, the girl's stepmother.

" We want her to know we're in pain, want her to come back, because we're sick of worrying," says stepsister Courtany England.

Police are urging you to call them if you know where Cleckner might be.

You can reach the Steuben County Sheriff's Department at 260-668-1000 extension 5000.

Both family and police say this is the first time the girl has run away, and Steuben police are working closely with Delaware police and State police to try to find her.
