Accused of having sex with three of his ten daughters, Amish man Andy Eicher, will be in court in two weeks. It's a case generating a lot of attention in the Amish community, with one of the nation's highest populations... right here in northeast Indiana. Our Nicole Pence is the only local reporter with the story.

Andy Eicher faces five felony counts of child molestation and incest...after three of his daughters told police back in October their father had sex with them, several times. The 55-year old Berne man was arrested Friday. It's the first case in Adams County in recent years. Andy Eicher's initial hearing in court is set for Tuesday, May 13th.

In the meantime, many questions....still remain....why did it take more than six-months for charges to be filed against Eicher after he apparently did not deny the allegations to police in November, but rather told the officer interviewing him, "he did not remember doing so."

Eicher's Amish bishop is also cited in court papers... As telling police Eicher "confessed his sins to god." We tried to contact that bishop Tuesday, but a visit to the home went unanswered.

Indiana's NewsCenter has confirmed Eicher is no longer living in his home. Court orders bar him from going near the three daughters, who alleged the sexual abuse. Child Protective Sservices' is involved in the welfare of Eicher's 12 other children, most of whom are female. We have learned police did interview Eicher's other daughters, but did not interview any of his five sons.

He told me off-camera that his explanation for the 6 months gap between when police finished their case and charges were pressed, was, "just how long the process took."
