By Dean Pantazi

(Fort Wayne) - The Komets staved off elimination in the IHL Turner Cup Finals Thursday night with a 4-2 win over the Port Huron Icehawks.
The win sends the K's back to Port Huron for game six Saturday night, when they will again try to stay alive.
Mathieu Curadeau opened the scoring in the first period, and P.C. Drouin had the lone goal of the second period before Port Huron got back within a goal at 2-1 in the third.
That's when Brandon Warner buried a blast on the power play to restore the two goal advantage, and after Port Huron sccored again to cut it to 3-2, Colin Chaulk hit an open net for the final margin.
Nick Boucher turned back 27 of 29 shots, several of them difficult.
A win in Port Huron by the Komets Saturday night, something they have failed at so far in the series, would bring thngs back to the Memorial Coliseum next Monday night for a deciding game seven.
