Mother's Day Observed at Vietnam Memorial Wall...and Elsewhere

It was a poignant Mother's Day at the Vietnam Memorial Wall in Washington, D.C. Thousands of women gathered to pay tribute to their lost sons and daughters
at a special Mother's Day ceremony. Mother's Day cards, flowers and flags line the base of the memorial as the special day is observed across the country.
Here in Fort Wayne families packed local restaurants the the long standing tradition of Mother's Day brunch. The brunch crowd at Granite City Brewery was
especially large today, but patrons didn't seem to mind the hour and a half wait. Kate Molter was there with her family. "We're getting a little hungry
but it's going great," she said. "It's a little rainy outside but it's going to be a great Mother's Day."
Mother's Day is the busiest day of the year for the phone company. It's also the biggest sales day for florists and card shops.
