Ellsworth Is Last Named and Uncommitted Superdelegate

By Peter Ambrose

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (AP) - Freshman southwest Indiana congressman
Brad Ellsworth is the state's last uncommitted and named superdelegate in the Democratic presidential race.

After Northwest Indiana Representative Pete Visclosky put his
support behind Barack Obama today, it left Ellsworth the last uncommitted Indiana superdelegate.

Ellsworth says he'll go with the voters of Indiana's 8th Congressional District. All 18 counties in the district supported Senator Hillary Clinton in last week's primary, but Ellsworth reserves the right to change his mind if the dynamics of the race shift. He also hasn't identified Clinton by name yet.

Ellsworth says if the Democratic contest continues into August,
he'll vote for the person who won his district.

Political scientist Robert Dion of the University of Evansville says Ellsworth is allowing himself freedom to change his vote without the threat of backlash.
