City Council Hears Update on Harrison Square

By Carl Smith

Fort Wayne, IN (Indiana's News Center)---Developers with Barry Real Estate Group came in from Atlanta to give a detailed update on how the condo project currently stands.

Rumors have swirled that there was a possibility of the condos becoming luxury apartments, which some say could have had an impact on sales.
Developers admitted to being behind in condo sales with only five of them sold so far, but they blamed the economy and slow home sales nationwide.
The real estate group hoped to have sold at least 50-percent of the condos by now and leased out fifty percent of the retail space, but that still hasn't been achieved.
We asked the developer about the rumor of the condo projects becoming luxury apartments instead.
Chris Schoen, " this is a condominium project and it was envisioned that way from day one!"

Developers also said that they are in the process of doing some marketing and special events to draw more potential buyers.
The condos range in price from one hundred and fifty thousand to three hundred and sixty thousand dollars.
