MARION, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) -- A 2-year-old girl was found dead in her home in Marion on Wednesday. The boyfriend of the mother has been arrested.
The Grant County Coroner says Arianna S. Carmack of Marion was injured with a flash burn from an unidentified chemical.
Arianna did not die from the flash burn, but the injuries contributed to her death, according to the autopsy results.
The coroner's report also noted multiple bruises to Arianna's body.
Donald W. Riddle, 27, of Marion, has been charged with neglect of a dependent resulting in Arianna's death.
The Grant County Sheriff's Department says it received a 911 call reporting an unresponsive child in the 1500 block of S. Miller Ave. Marion police say Arianna and two other children were staying with Riddle, their mother's boyfriend, for the past few months.
The mother came home to find Arianna unresponsive, police say. Police found burns on Arianna's face and back, too.
Riddle was found at someone else's home, and arrested.
