FORT WAYNE, IN (Indiana's NewsCenter) --- More than 1,400 Batman fans were disappointed this morning when the Regal Coldwater Movie Theater was evacuated.

Police say a bomb threat was called into the theater sometime around 1 a.m.

Workers evacuated each of the 14 theaters separately on the much-anticipated "Dark Knight's" opening day.

Then K-9 units scoured the parking lot for explosives.

"We were watching the movie and it pretty much lived up to its expectations and then they just shut it off and said we had to leave," said Batfan Willie Beamon.

Another fan waited in line for more than three hours to get a good seat for the film. "I'm just really bummed out," said Ryan Hart. "I mean the movie was going really good. We were about an hour into it. It was going amazing. It just kind of sucks that we had to get outta there."

Theater employees handed out free vouchers to movie-goers as they evacuated so they could come back to see the film later.
