FORT WAYNE, IN (Indiana's News Center)---Recently we reported that Fort Wayne Mayor Tom Henry had sent a letter to members of the City Council looking for some assistance in cutting the 2009 city budget that is millions of dollars too high.
In return, on Tuesday July 22nd, Tom Didier and fellow Republican Council Members Liz Brown and Marty Bender sent a letter to the Mayor's office. In the letter they stated that they appreciate that the administration wants council members' ideas and suggestions for reducing the city's 2009 budget, but that it was up to the mayor and his staff to take the first steps in reducing costs.
Mayor Henry responded, "I read the letter as a letter of concern and did not find it offensive. I think that those members of council are looking our for the best interests of Fort Wayne."
