FORT WAYNE, IN (Indiana's NewsCenter)--Allen County voters most likely won't have a chance to weigh in on the bridge maintenance issue this November.

Just Wednesday, Mayor Tom Henry proposed placing a referendum on the ballot....allowing Allen County voters to decide whether they wanted to spend property tax dollars to improve area bridges.

Today, the Allen County Auditor says by law the County Council would need to advertise a bond discussion ten days before their meeting.

This wouldn't allow enough time for the county to meet the August first deadline to get the bridge-maintenance bond on the ballot.
