Fort Wayne Council Approves Controversial Contract

Fort Wayne, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter)- A French company could soon hold the information technology contract for Fort Wayne and Allen County.

In a 7-0 vote, City Council approved a measure awarding the I.T. contract to ATOS Origin I.T. Services. The company is French owned but its American operations are headquartered in Texas.

The joint city-county deal is for five years is worth more than $11 million.

Allen County Commissioners still need to approve the measure, and Fort Wayne Mayor Tom Henry must sign it before the deal goes into effect.
