Hunterstown, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter)- This Labor Day weekend will mark a tragic aniversary for Robert Rogers.

It was five years ago when Robert, then an electrical engineer living in Kansas, along with this wife Melissa and his four children, Alenah, Makenah, Nicholas and Zachary, were driving home from a wedding near Wichita, Kansas.

A powerful flash flood pushed their van off the road, filling it with water. Robert kicked out a window in a final attempt to free his family. The force of the water flushed them out of the vehicle. Robert survived, his wife and children did not.

Five years later he is living in Fort Wayne with his new wife, Inga and their one year old son Ezekiel.

Robert has recorded music and written a book about his experience. He also travels the country with his story hoping to inspire others.
